The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art invites you to join us for professional development workshops designed specifically for visual arts teachers to enhance and develop content area expertise.

This series “Art for Teachers” is designed specifically for art teachers so that they can earn 6 CPE credits that are content specific. Educators from all subject areas are welcome.

Spring is here and we have a new workshop for our Art for Teachers' Series. On Friday, April 17, 2020,Lauren Selden, School of Art metals professor, presents a metals workshop for art teachers. She explains:

  • Create a small wall piece or piece of jewelry utilizing sawing and cold-connection techniques. We will learn techniques including sawing, piercing, drilling holes, texturing, properties of metal, and more. Enjoy hands-on experience using tools for metalworking and jewelry while learning new methods to introduce these processes in your classrooms.
