Art Day 2022

student drawing with pastel chalk on paper

You and your select art students are invited to participate in Art Day at SFA again in 2022. This event will include a college-level art studio class tailored to give your students a taste of college life as an art major at Stephen F. Austin State University. We will offer two smaller art-day programs this year with slightly different course offerings.

The November 18 program is full

  • November 11: Painting, jewelry-making, photography-darkroom, and Graphic Design & Drawing*.

  • November 18: Pastel drawing, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, and two photography sessions: portrait lighting, and tintype**

Student selection for Art Day at SFA is at the discretion of your faculty and administration. We urge you to select only your most sincere and serious upper-level art students, and the students that you believe would benefit most from a visit to our art program—maybe that kid who just needs to see a college campus to begin imagining their future potential.

Your students will spend the morning learning technical and creative art strategies taught by experienced SFA art faculty and gain valuable hands-on experience leading to better-informed college selection decisions. Teachers will have an opportunity to meet and speak with our faculty and are encouraged to sit-in on the workshops as well. Art Day at SFA will acquaint you with the excellent educational opportunities that exist in Nacogdoches.

Please limit your attendees to five to seven art students. All studio areas are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If your faculty is unable to attend, students and their parents may participate, provided the school grants written permission and documentation is faxed to Art Day at SFA at 936.468.4041.

We look forward to seeing you all.
